Davies Street was developed early in the 18th century and takes its name from Mary Davies who inherited swathes of Mayfair land and married Sir Thomas Grosvenor in 1677.

The Running Horse pub at 50 Davies Street is the oldest pub in Mayfair - established in 1738 (The Coach and Horses in Hill Street also claims to be the oldest)

The Davies Street drill hall was home to the Queen Victoria's Rifles, The King?s Royal Rifle Corps and was still in use by the army until 2017. In 2019 it became a dedicated immersive theatre venue.
