{"id":114,"date":"2021-01-14T11:54:00","date_gmt":"2021-01-14T11:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mayfairofficespace.co.uk\/blog\/?p=114"},"modified":"2021-01-21T12:13:16","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T12:13:16","slug":"green-light-for-south-molton-triangle-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mayfairofficespace.co.uk\/blog\/2021\/01\/green-light-for-south-molton-triangle-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Green light for South Molton Triangle scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WESTMINSTER Council has given the go-ahead to a major new development by local landlord Grosvenor Estates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u00a3500 million scheme, <a href=\"https:\/\/committees.westminster.gov.uk\/documents\/s40039\/ITEM%2001%20-%20DEVELOPMENT%20SITE%20BOUND%20BY%20BROOK%20STREET%20DAVIES%20STREET%20AND%20SOUTH%20MOLTON%20LANE%20EXCLUDING%2058%20.pdf\">recommended by council officers<\/a> and approved by councillors on December 22nd, will see two new office buildings, a hotel, retail units and 33 homes delivered by 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The North and South Block office buildings &#8211; both rising to eight storeys &#8211; will require the demolition of several buildings in Brook Street, Davies Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public realm improvements planned include repaving, tree planting, lighting, cycle parking, wayleaving of existing street lighting and the introduction of a new passageway between South Molton Street and South Molton Lane &amp;  Davies Mews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historic England said in its submission that the scheme would &#8220;result in harm to the significance of the Mayfair Conservation Area&#8221; but that should be weighed against the benefits of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The South Molton Triangle is bound by <a href=\"https:\/\/mayfairofficespace.co.uk\/streets\/brook-street-offices\/\">Brook Street<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/mayfairofficespace.co.uk\/streets\/davies-street-offices\/\">Davies Street<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/mayfairofficespace.co.uk\/streets\/south-molton-street-offices\/\">South Molton Street<\/a> as well as including Davies Mews and South Molton Lane.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WESTMINSTER Council has given the go-ahead to a major new development by local landlord Grosvenor Estates.
